Leader Online Desk : Yashasvi Jaiswal 1000 Runs : India's left-handed opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has created history in Test cricket. He has become the batsman to score 1000 Test runs in the least number of matches for India. He has broken the records of great batsmen Cheteshwar Pujara and Vinod Kambli. Yashasvi Jaiswal achieved this feat in the last match of the five-Test series against England at the HPCA Cricket Stadium in Dharamsala.

Yashasvi Jaiswal 1000 Runs in 9th Test only

Jaiswal reached the 1000 run mark in Test cricket with his 29th run in the first innings of the fifth Test. He became one of the few players to score 1000 runs as an opener in Test cricket. He managed to cross the 1000-run mark for India in just 9 Tests. No other batsman has completed 1000 runs for India in fewer Tests than him.

Pujara, left Kambli behind

Jaiswal has also surpassed Cheteshwar Pujara and Vinod Kambli. Pujara completed 1000 runs in 11 matches and Vinod Kambli in 12 matches. However, when it comes to innings, Kambli is ahead of Jaiswal. Kambli did this in the 14th innings, while Jaiswal did it in the 16th innings. Meanwhile, Cheteshwar Pujara had to wait 18 innings to complete 1000 runs.

1000 runs in 239 days!

Yashasvi Jaiswal is the Indian batsman who scored 1000 Test runs in the shortest number of days. He completed 1000 runs in 239 days after his debut. Rahul Dravid is second in this regard. He did this feat in 299 days. (Yashasvi Jaiswal 1000 Runs)

Sir Don Bradman completed 1000 runs in just seven Test matches. They are at the top. No one has been able to achieve such a feat in 7 or 8 matches without him. Highest run-scorer in the series against England

Jaiswal has so far completed 700 runs in 9 innings from five matches at an average of 94.29 and a strike rate of 77.46. He has so far scored two double centuries and two fifties in this series. He has become the highest run-scorer in the series against England. Earlier this record was held by Virat Kohli. Kohli scored 655 runs in the home series against England in 2016-17. Kohli also scored two double centuries in that series.

Jaiswal's 700 runs

Jaiswal has surpassed Kohli's all-time best in the series. Kohli scored 692 runs in the series against Australia in 2014-15. Jaiswal became the second Indian batsman to score 700 runs in a series. Gavaskar's name occupies the first two positions in the list of Indian batsmen with the most runs in a Test series. He scored a record 774 runs in 4 matches on his debut Test series against the West Indies in 1971. During this time he scored 4 centuries and three half-centuries with one double century at an average of 154.80. This is the Indian record for most runs in a Test series. Gavaskar once again scored more than 700 runs during the 1978-79 West Indies tour series. He scored 732 runs in 6 matches at an average of 91.50. He scored four centuries during this period.
