Diplomatic officials of Iran were also present in this meeting. At the meeting, Iran's ambassador defended the attack on Israel, explaining that they had no other choice.
Amir Saeed Erwani, Iran's ambassador to the United Nations Security Council, said that the Islamic Republic of Iran attacked Israel under the right of self-defense. The UN Security Council failed to do its duty after Israel attacked the Iranian embassy in Damascus. In such a situation there was no option left and he had to respond.
