Yash Chopra offered Veer Zara after watching the film Pinjar: Manoj Bajpayee said – the director was adamant to sign me

There was a time when Manoj Bajpayee used to sign any film just for money. It was very important for him to do this to earn his living. In this bad time he worked in the film Pinjar. This film failed at the box office, but he was awarded the National Award for it.

Not only this, due to this film he got a chance to work with director Yash Chopra in the film Veer Zara. Yash Chopra was adamant to cast Manoj in this film.

Manoj himself has said all these things in a recent interview. These days he is in the news because of the film Bhaiya Ji. The film is scheduled to release in theaters on May 24.

'Yash ji was very happy after seeing the cage'

In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Manoj said, 'I received the National Award for Pinjar. But this film gave me more. He got me the film Veer Zara. When director Yash ji saw this film, he was mesmerized. After this he was adamant on casting me in the film Veer Zara.

'I don't make films for actors like you'

Manoj further said, 'There was no place for actors like us with Yash ji. Yash ji also used to say – Son, this will happen only now because I don't know when I will work with you in the future. I don't make films for actors like you.

Manoj Bajpayee also talked about the initial struggle. He said, 'There was a period which was very bad. As much as I have had to struggle, I hope that such a bad time does not come in anyone's life. When you have to do a film just because the money is running out, how will the house be run, then the condition is very bad.
