With the NDA government at the centre, expansion of the state cabinet in Maharashtra

New Delhi, Leading News Service: In the Lok Sabha elections, the Grand Alliance faced a big defeat. Therefore, it is predicted that the state cabinet will be expanded within a few days after the formation of the NDA government at the center with the intention of forgetting this defeat and working hard for the upcoming assembly elections.

After the meeting of NDA on Wednesday, Narendra Modi interacted with the leaders of Maharashtra and learned the reasons for the defeat. The leaders of the state informed Modi that the BJP and the Grand Alliance have suffered defeat due to the confusion in the distribution of candidates with Maratha reservation and the government's neglect of the serious issues of the farmers.

Modi was told that a large section of the Maratha community, including minorities, Dalits, Dhangars, had moved to the Mahavikas Aghadi due to discontent against the government. Sources informed that Modi instructed the leaders of the Grand Alliance to forget this defeat and now start working vigorously for the assembly elections.

Sources clarified that the NCP (Ajit Pawar) group will demand the expansion of the state cabinet in the next fifteen days in order to recover from the defeat in the Lok Sabha and generate new vigor in the Grand Alliance.
