A fire suddenly broke out at the sub-divisional office of the Electricity Department here on Friday. So there was a commotion in the area. In no time, the fire took on a fierce form, and a plume of smoke could be seen in the sky. Seeing that the fire was growing, the residents of the area informed the fire brigade and the police about the incident. After this, fire engines reached the spot and started extinguishing the fire. It is a relief that there was no loss of life in this incident.
According to information received, a sudden short-circuit occurred in a transformer kept in the warehouse of the sub-divisional office of the Electricity Department near Bharat Mata Chowk in Gudhiari Police Station limits in Raipur, causing a huge explosion and a huge fire. 1500 transformers kept in godown got burnt. It is said that around 6 thousand transformers are kept in the godown. All the houses in the area were evacuated as the fire raged.
