Islamabad; News Agency: Pakistan Army's biggest sex scandal has come to light. More than 600 videos of minors being sexually abused by some officers from the rank of colonel to major posted in the tribal areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have sparked a stir in Pakistan. The children are said to be under 14 years of age. More than a hundred children as young as five were sexually exploited.
Now some army officers have been called from Parachinar Cantt to the command headquarters in Peshawar. Commander Lt Gen Hasan Azhar Hayat has warned that strict action will be taken if any army officer is found to have sexually abused children. But officials have said the children were not sexually abused.
Some officers were accused of sexually abusing a 13-year-old boy three years ago. But it turned out to be false. Pakistan Army has claimed that a local shopkeeper was arrested after a case was registered in this case. Tahir Kabadi, a shopkeeper from Kabaili area, had good relations with the army. He used to lure children and send them to army officers. It is said that videos of the shopkeeper also sexually abusing children have come to light.
Extortion by blackmail
The shopkeeper used to blackmail children and extort ransom from their parents on the fear of sexual exploitation videos. The police have seized his laptop. Army officials have been accused of sexually abusing children in the past. But those cases were also suppressed. In 2015, about 400 videos of child sexual abuse came to light. These videos were sold for Rs.50.
