Producer who smuggled drugs worth Rs 2000 crore arrested: NCB was searching for 4 months, there was preparation to sell drugs in Sri Lanka

Zafar Sadiq, a producer in the South Film Industry and a former worker of the political party Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), has been arrested. He is accused of smuggling drugs worth Rs 2000 crore abroad. NCB (Narcotics Control Bureau), which was searching for him for 4 months, arrested Zafar on Saturday.

Zafar has made a total of 3 films so far.  His fourth film is to be released this month.

Zafar is the leader of India-Australia-New Zealand drugs trafficking network.
According to NCB, he is the leader of the India-Australia-New Zealand drugs trafficking network. He has smuggled drugs worth Rs 2000 crore to Australia and New Zealand. According to a senior NCB official, Zafar has sold 3,500 kg of pseudoephedrine abroad in a total of 45 times.

Smuggling was to be done in Sri Lanka
Zafar's arrest comes a week after authorities seized methamphetamine worth Rs 180 crore from two railway passengers in Madurai and a dump yard in Chennai. It is being told that Zafar was preparing to smuggle these drugs into Sri Lanka.

BJP State Chief Annamalai targets DMK
BJP State Chief K Annamalai has slammed DMK on this drug bust. He said that Tamil Nadu has become the drug capital of the country. Annamalai said, 'International druglord and DMK worker Zafar Sadiq is a fugitive. NCB is raiding the houses of DMK officials. Sharing a post, Annamalai said, 'Earlier, methamphetamine worth Rs 1,200 crore, which reached Gujarat coast via Tamil Nadu, was seized and today 30 kg of methamphetamine was seized by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence in Madurai.'

Three other people associated with this international drug syndicate were recently arrested by NCB from Delhi. America's Federal Bureau of Investigation is also cooperating with the Indian agency in this drugs investigation.

The fourth film is to be released this month
Sadiq has so far produced three films under his banner JSM Pictures namely 'Iraivan Miga Periyavan', 'Mayavalai', and 'Mangai'. His fourth film 'VR07' is to be released this month. Vasant Ravi and Mehreen Pirzada will be seen in lead roles in this film. It has been directed by Sabreesh Nanda.
