IND vs ENG Test: Team India created history, equaled the record 112 years ago leader

India suffered a crushing defeat in the first Test of the series. After that, Rohit and company made a huge comeback and won the remaining four matches to clinch the series. India have won four matches in a Test series for the third time. Earlier, Team India defeated Australia 4-0 in 2012-13 and England 4-1 in 2016-17.

The Indian team created a special record

By winning the fifth Test in Dharamsala, Team India equaled the record held by Australia and England. After losing the first Test of a five-match Test series, only three times so far have teams made a strong comeback to win the remaining four matches. (IND vs ENG 5th Test)

Such a total has happened only four times in the history of cricket. Australia have done it twice, England and India once each. England did this 112 years ago. After losing the first match of the five-match Test series in 1912, the English team made a stunning comeback and won the remaining four matches. Whereas, Australia achieved this feat in 1897/98 and 1901/02.

While doing such a performance, India has equaled two teams namely England and Australia. After losing the first Test, Team India won the remaining four Tests of the series for the first time in the last 112 years.

England won the first Test in Hyderabad by 28 runs. India then made a strong comeback to win the second Test in Visakhapatnam by 106 runs, the third Test in Rajkot by 434 runs and then the fourth Test in Ranchi by five wickets. What happened in Dharamsala Test?

England scored 218 runs when batting first in the Dharamsala Test. In reply, India's first innings ended on 477 runs on the third day. This gave Team India a lead of 259 runs. In reply, England could manage only 195 runs in the second innings. Apart from winning this match by an innings and 64 runs, India also won the series 4-1.

India won the 17th Test series

India has won the 17th Test series at home. This is also a record. This winning streak is ongoing from 22 February 2013 till now. Australia is on the second place. They won 10 consecutive Test series at home from 1994 to 2001.
