While sharing an anecdote related to Shahrukh Khan, Tigmanshu had said – 'Mani Ratnam used to shoot this film at far-flung places. One hour was available during lunch break. Shahrukh used to finish his lunch quickly and take a nap on the floor. His spot boy would spread a simple sheet and he would take a nap for a while.

The series will highlight life in Lahore's red-light area of Hiramandi during the Indian independence movement against the British Raj in the 1940s. The series has been directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Mitakshara Kumar. Through this, Sanjay Leela Bhansali is making his OTT debut. Apart from Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Adhyayan Suman, Shekhar Suman, Fardeen Khan, Sanjeeda Sheikh and Taha Shah are in lead roles in this series.
