Sonia Gandhi invincible from Rae Bareli

After the 1999 Lok Sabha elections, Sonia Gandhi is unbeaten from Rae Bareli, having won in 2004, 2006 (by-elections), 2009, 2014 and 2019.
Stayed away from politics and campaigned for Congress

But did not become active in politics. Campaigned for Congress in 2007 assembly elections but was confined to Amethi-Rae Bareli.

Priyanka Gandhi had campaigned for Congress in a similar way in 2009. But was not officially affiliated with the Congress party. In 2012, Congress made him a star campaigner. In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, he again supported the Congress as a star campaigner. In the 2017 assembly elections, he campaigned for Congress candidates in a limited capacity. In the next Lok Sabha elections, the Congress made her the General Secretary of Eastern Uttar Pradesh and she entered active politics. However, Priyanka Gandhi has not yet contested any election.
