Katrina Kaif worked in Kabir Khan's film New York. Although initially she did not want to work in this film. He had also rejected the film offer. But on the insistence of Salman Khan, he agreed to this film.
This has been revealed by the film's director Kabir Khan himself in a recent interview. He also told that Salman and Katrina were in a relationship at that time.
Kabir has mentioned in many interviews that he and Katrina are very good friends.

In an interview given to YouTube channel Mashable India, Kabir Khan said- I met Salman Khan during the shooting of the first film Kabul Express. Thanks to this meeting, Katrina was cast in my second film New York.
Actually, Katrina was the first choice for this film. This was to be his first film with Yash Raj Productions. But she was disappointed after hearing the story in the first meeting itself. Perhaps she wanted to work in a love story film.
Katrina worked with John Abraham and Neil Nitin Mukesh in the film New York.
At that time she was dating Salman Khan. When Salman talked to Katrina about this meeting, she said that the story of the film was good but maybe not according to her. Then Salman asked the name of the director. When he came to know that I was the director, he said – close your eyes and sign the picture. I met him boy. His work is good.
Katrina told me this story after many years.
Kabir Khan has directed Salman's films like Ek Tha Tiger, Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Tubelight.
Kabir also shared stories related to the shooting of the film. He said that the shooting took place in New York for 100 days. The entire set-up of the film was new for Katrina. He further said- Katrina used to call me sir on the set in the beginning. Then I told him – Friend, your boyfriend is 4 years older than me, please don't call me sir.
Kabir used to call Katrina as Kareena
Kabir told that initially he called Katrina as Kareena for about 20 days. He said- For the first 20 days, I used to call her Kareena and then gradually when we became friends, I got used to Katrina. Then during Bajrangi Bhaijaan, I kept calling Kareena as Katrina for a long time.
