Pakistan had won six matches each against Bangladesh and Sri Lanka in the T20 World Cup against the West Indies. India is now the only country with the most number of wins against a single team in T20 World Cup competition with seven wins against Pakistan.

India has won the T20 World Cup despite the smallest score. In the match against Pakistan on Sunday, Team India managed only 119 runs. But due to India's penetrating bowling, Pakistan could score 113 runs for 7 in 20 overs. India has defeated Pakistan by six runs in a thrilling match. Earlier in the T20 World Cup in 2014, Sri Lanka had done this against New Zealand in Chittagong. Earlier in 2016, Team India beat Zimbabwe by setting a target of 139 runs in Harare.

Pakistan win the toss. Invited India to bat first. Batting first, the Indian team managed to manage only 119 runs in 19 overs. In reply, Pakistan started strongly. In the 14th over, Pakistan scored 80 runs losing the wicket. Rizwan-Shadab were dismissed and the match took a turn.. Jasprit Bumrah came in to bowl in the 19th over and took the wicket of Iftikhar for just three runs. In the 20th over, Pakistan needed 18 runs to win. However, Arshdeep bowled Imad Wasim for just 11 runs. Bumrah-Arshdeep, Siraj and Hardik's fast bowling led India to victory. Pakistan team scored 113 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs.
Jasprit Bumrah's penetrating strike
Jasprit Bumrah took three wickets for just 14 runs. Bumrah was the man of the match. This is the second time in eight months that Bumrah has won the man of the match award against Pakistan in an ICC tournament. Earlier in the 2023 ODI World Cup, Bumrah took two wickets for 19 runs against Pakistan and was adjudged Man of the Match.
