There is a trend of making films on subjects like brutal incidents and mass genocide in Indian films. Film makers are boldly making films on such events that happened in history which were not even talked about openly earlier. The film 'Razakar The Silent Genocide of Hyderabad', based on the massacre that took place in Hyderabad at the time of the country's independence, is being released tomorrow on 26th April. Recently, producer Gudur Narayan Reddy, actors Makrand Deshpande, Raj Arjun and Tej Sapru talked about this film.

It was a big task to include the princely states and kingdoms.

Producer Gudur Narayan Reddy said that this film gives the message that how this country stands strong today because of Sardar Patel. The story of this film is of the era of independence when there were many challenges in the country. Junagadh, Kashmir and Hyderabad were the three princely states which were continuously refusing to merge with the country. The story of this film is basically based on the princely state of Hyderabad. Which was merged into the country about a year after independence.

Sardar Patel played an important role in getting it merged. Even after partition, it was a big task to include many princely states and kingdoms. The public would hardly know the story of how when the princely states were being merged, massacres took place at some places. Such atrocities were committed on the public, the wounds of which cannot be forgotten till date.

Real character is a responsibility for us

Actor Makrand Deshpande said – 'The biggest challenge as an actor is when you play a real character. I have played the character of Mir Osman Ali Pasha. I had a little doubt about this character whether I would be able to play it with all the conventions or not. This is what worked for us. My face started looking like Mir Osman Ali Pasha. Got to know about history while performing. The director did not give the complete bound script. We were only told about the character.

While shooting the film, I had no idea where this film was going. Now when I watch the film, I feel that I have done something good. Being part of a history that no one knows about. It is a responsibility for us to fulfill it.

Mostly I have played negative characters. This time the audience will be in for a little surprise. Has worked in 300 films in 13 languages. But this is the best role of my career. Very proud to play the role of Sardar Patel in the film.

i believe in universal power

Actor Raj Arjun said – 'I always try to do something different. The public should think whether the character is positive or negative. If I accept that there is a negative character, then I will start playing it as a negative character. I believe in universal power. I think being challenging and out of the box will be useful. How to differentiate from the previous ones, this is what I try to do.
