Filmmaker and actor Ananth Mahadevan said that Missing Ladies is inspired by his 1999 film 'Ghunghat Ke Pat Khol'. He said that many scenes of Missing Ladies are similar to his film. There is a bride swapping sequence in that film also. Anant said that his film has also been removed from YouTube, now why this has been done is beyond understanding.
Station scene similar
Ananth while talking to Mid Day – There is a station scene in my film also, where brides are exchanged. She is also veiled. Apart from this, Ravi Kishan looks at the photo of the bride with her veil, this scene is also in my film, provided the character in it is not a policeman but someone else.
movie removed from youtube
Anant further said- I don't know whether the makers of Missing Ladies have seen my film or not. But when I searched my film on YouTube, it was missing from there. I have realized that the film has been removed from YouTube.
Aamir and Anant have done films together
The special thing is that Ananth Mahadevan has worked with Aamir in three films. These three films are Akele Hum Akele Tum, Ishq and Mann. Missing Ladies is produced by Aamir Khan's production company. The film has been directed by Aamir's ex-wife Kiran Rao.
