New Delhi; Leading News Service: Amid the uproar across the country due to the paper-split scandal of NEET and NET exams, the central government has implemented a strict law on paper-split from midnight on Saturday. According to this Act, provision has been made for a fine of one crore rupees and imprisonment for ten years.
There was an uproar across the country after the confusion between NEET and NET exams, which are considered very important for students, came to light. There was great excitement in the education sector. In this case, even as the process of registering crimes and taking other types of action was going on, the credibility of these examinations also came into question. Amidst this situation, the central government issued the notification of the law on paper shredding on Thursday night. So now the Prevention of Unfair Means Act 2024 has come into effect. Under this strict law, serious and non-bailable offenses will be filed against the accused in examination papers and disturbances. In the case of cheating or tampering with the answer sheet in the recruitment examination, the accused will be sentenced to imprisonment for a minimum of three years. If the crime is serious, the punishment of the accused can be extended up to five years. Apart from this, the accused can also be fined Rs 10 lakh.
The concerned organization will also be held responsible
The organizing body appointed to conduct the recruitment exam will also be held responsible under the new anti-paperwork law. A fine of Rs 1 crore will be levied by the concerned institution in case of any irregularities in the examination. Along with that, a ban will be imposed on conducting any examination for the next four years. If an organization is found to be involved in organized crime during the examination, the assets of the institution will be confiscated and the entire cost of the examination will be recovered.
