'Strict action should be taken against those who support terrorism'
In the wake of the recent terrorist attacks, Home Minister Shah took detailed information about the current security situation in the Jammu region. The Home Minister was briefed about the current security situation in Jammu. He directed the top security officials to take strict action against the terrorists and their supporters operating in Jammu.
The Home Minister expressed concern over the attack on Shivkhodi pilgrims. He called for coordinated efforts for the safety of pilgrims visiting Vaishnodevi, Shivkhodi and other pilgrimage sites. He directed the security officials in the meeting to keep a strict vigil on highways and sensitive places to protect the movement of security forces and pilgrims. “Strong action should be taken against elements supporting terrorists in Jammu and terrorism should not be allowed to grow in this area at any cost.”

'Every passenger must be protected'
He also emphasized on closing the places from which foreign terrorists have managed to enter from this side. The Home Minister called for a 'multi-layered security cover' for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra and said 'every pilgrim should be protected and the pilgrimage should be conducted in a safe environment. The Home Minister also stressed on the security of the travel routes up to the base camp. The annual yatra starts on June 29 and ends on August 19. The meeting discussed the security plans for all tourist spots and pilgrimage sites in Kashmir and Jammu and finalized measures to prevent possible attacks by terrorists.
