The trailer of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's much awaited series Heeramandi The Diamond Bazaar has been launched. The battle of love, power and freedom is seen in this series based on Pakistan's royal locality Hiramandi.
The series has been directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
The story of Hiramandi, the royal neighborhood situated in Lahore, highlights the life of courtesans. It shows the lifestyle of courtesans and their struggle during the country's independence. This series will take you to the era when our country was fighting for independence.
The film will stream on Netflix on May 1.
It is shown in the trailer of the series that Mallika Jaan (Manisha Koirala) is alone in Hiramandi, who rules the house of high class courtesans. She runs her rule without any fear, but one day an atmosphere of tension begins to arise with the arrival of Faridan (Sonakshi Sinha), the daughter of her old enemy.
The city is also in turmoil, with revolutionaries demanding India's independence from British rule. Bibbo Jaan (Aditi Rao Hydari), one of Mallika Jaan's daughters, is joining the freedom fight. Meanwhile Mallika Jaan's youngest daughter Alamzeb (Sharmin Sehgal), dreams of love with Tajdar (Taha Shah Badusha), the son of a Nawab (nobleman) and wants to move out of Heeramandi.
