Hollywood director James Cameron's film 'Titanic' continues to hold its place in people's hearts even after 26 years of its release. In this film released in 1997, Leonardo DiCaprio played the lead role of Jack Dawson and Kate Winslet played the lead role of Rose Dawson.

At the end of the film, Rose saves her life with the help of a wooden door after the RMS Titanic sinks. Recently this door used in the film was auctioned and it was sold for $718,750 i.e. approximately Rs 5 crore 99 lakh.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, during the auction many fans thought it was just a wooden panel. However, Heritage Auctions Treasures revealed that it is part of a door frame that once existed directly above the real Titanic's First Class lounge entrance gate.

Rose's dress sold for Rs 1 crore
Apart from this, the chiffon dress which was worn by actress Kate Winslet who played the role of Rose in the film was also auctioned at the event. It was sold for $125,000 i.e. approximately Rs 1.05 crore.

Total Rs 131 crore collected from auction
Heritage Auctions issued a statement saying that they collected Rs 131 crore from this auction. Along with this, it has become one of the most successful sale of prop and costume collection.

At the 1998 Oscar Awards, 'Titanic' won 11 awards out of 14 nominations. It is the fourth highest-grossing film in the world after James Cameron's 'Avatar', 'Avatar: The Way of Water' and 'Avengers: Endgame'.
