The court rejected the plea of ​​Brijbhushan Singh in the sexual harassment case









New Delhi, Leading News Service: Delhi's Rouse Avenue court on Friday (April 26) dismissed former Wrestling Federation of India president and BJP MP Brijbhushan Singh's plea seeking re-investigation into allegations of sexual harassment. In the petition, Brijbhushan Singh demanded a re-investigation into the allegations of sexual harassment. The court will now fix the charges on May 7.

In the petition, Brijbhushan Singh had claimed that he was not in Delhi on the day of the incident on September 7, 2022, so these allegations should be re-investigated. A copy of the CDR (Call Detail Report) of the accused wrestlers should also be given.' He had also made such a demand. The Delhi Police filed a chargesheet against Brijbhushan in June 2023. According to the chargesheet, Brijbhushan molested a female wrestler at the Delhi office of the Indian Wrestling Association. Brijbhushan Singh's plea to re-investigate these allegations was rejected.

Meanwhile on 18 January 2023, more than 30 wrestlers including wrestlers Bajrang Punia, Sakshi Malik, Vinesh Phogat protested at Jantar Mantar in Delhi regarding the sexual harassment case. The wrestlers ended their protest after the sports ministry intervened. An inquiry committee was also formed in this matter. However, the matter gained momentum in April 2023 after the wrestlers started protesting once again. The wrestlers had reached the court to file an FIR in this case. The FIR was registered by the Delhi Police as per the order of the court.
