T20 World Cup: Pat Cummins Creates History! 'Hat-trick' taken in the second match in a row









Leader Online Desk : T20 World Cup Pat cummins : Australian fast bowler Pat Cummins created a unique record in T20 World Cup. He achieved a historic hat-trick by taking three consecutive wickets in the second match in a row. He has become the first bowler in the world to achieve this feat. Cummins did this feat in the match against Afghanistan in the Super 8 round on Sunday (23rd). Cummins had earlier completed the hat-trick in the match against Bangladesh. He has now reached the list of top-5 bowlers who have taken the most wickets in the tournament.

Cummins got his first breakthrough by dismissing Afghanistan captain Rashid Khan (2) off the sixth ball of the 18th over. He then dismissed Karim Janat (13) on the first ball of the 20th over, before sending Gulbadin Naib (0) to the pavilion on the very next ball to complete his hat-trick. Cummins took three wickets for 28 runs in four overs. Apart from them, Adam Zampa took two wickets and Marcus Stoinis took one.

Cummins became the first bowler to take a hat-trick in two consecutive T20I matches. No bowler could do such a feat before him. Apart from Cummins, only Lasith Malinga and Tim Southee have taken hat-tricks twice in the shortest format of cricket among Test playing countries. Cummins has played 4 matches in this World Cup so far and has taken 9 wickets in 4 innings at an average of 10.66.
