Anil Sharma said, 'I did not believe that Gadar-2 would be made. If you want to make a sequel to a film like 'Mother India', it cannot be made. Exactly the same problem existed with Gadar – Ek Prem Katha. But we felt that there was some part missing in it, on which a story could be told. What happens when Tara Singh's son 'Jeete' grows up? When we developed the story and narrated it to Sunny, her eyes filled with tears. There was definitely a question in his mind that how would it happen? I assured him that everything would be done.
Gadar could not be imagined without Sunny Deol
I had a desire to do a period film. I always felt that Sunny Deol is the best actor for our film. We thought of the story and when the character of Tara Singh came, we felt that there is no better actor than Sunny for it. At that time he was shooting in Ooty. Went to Ooty to tell him the story. After listening to the story for 10 minutes, he had only one question, will this film look real? I assured them that it would be like this.
