The death toll in the landslide that occurred after heavy rains on the night of 29-30 July in Wayanad, Kerala has reached 365. The search operation is still going on today (August 4), the sixth day after the accident. 206 people are still missing.

Meanwhile, South superstar Mohanlal reached Wayanad to support the Indian Army engaged in relief work. He visited the affected areas there. He reached there in army uniform.
He also announced a donation of Rs 3 crore for the relief fund. Mohanlal is also the Lieutenant Colonel of Kerala's 122 Territorial Army.
During this period he also understood the working methods of the army.

In the same post, the actor informed that he has pledged Rs 3 crore for immediate relief and reconstruction efforts. He will also rebuild a school in Mundakkai.

Mohanlal further wrote, 'It was very emotional to see the courageous efforts of the soldiers and rescue team. Their selfless dedication brings a ray of hope. Together we will rebuild, recover and emerge stronger.'

On the work front, Mohanlal was seen in the film 'Malaikottai Valiban' released in January this year. These days he is working on films like 'Kanappa', 'L2E' and 'Ram'.
Allu Arjun also donated 25 lakh rupees
Amid the devastation caused by the landslide in Wayanad, the South film industry has come forward to help. So far, apart from Mohanlal, many South stars have donated lakhs of rupees to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund. Actress Jyothika, Karthi and Surya have given financial assistance of Rs 50 lakh.
Rashmika Mandana has donated Rs 10 lakh. On Sunday, Allu Arjun also announced to donate Rs 25 lakh.
