'Hiramandi' shows the lives of courtesans in the Heeramandi red-light area of Lahore during the Indian Freedom Movement against the British Raj. Talking about the star cast in the series, apart from Sonakshi Sinha, actresses like Aditi Rao Hydari, Manisha Koirala, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Sharmin Sehgal, Farida Jalal will be seen.
According to reports, the history of Hiramandi is 450 years old. This is an area of Lahore city of Pakistan. It has also been known as 'Shahi Mohalla'. Women from Uzbekistan and Afghanistan used to come to Hiramandi. Coming here she used to do classical dance and sing songs. During the reign of Akbar, Hiramandi was called 'Shahi Mohalla'. Many brothels located here belong to the period of Mughal rule.
