Veteran cinematographer Anil Mehta has done cinematography of films like 'Lagaan', 'Veer-Zaara', 'Rockstar' and 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' in his career. Apart from these films, Anil has also worked with director Sanjay Leela Bhansali on his directorial debut films 'Khamoshi' and 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam'.

In an interview, Anil shared an incident related to the shooting of this film. Anil told that the song 'Tadap-Tadap..' of the film was shot in the desert in the scorching heat.

In an interview to Film Companion, Anil said, 'I remember we were shooting this song in the desert and Salman just kept flowing in the scene. Otherwise, tell me who is the hero who will lie down on such hot sand and ask people to pour that sand on him? He himself was doing the same. It was amazing. I was shocked to see his energy in that shot.

'It was difficult to capture the sun in this heat'
Anil further said, 'After this I picked up the camera from the tripod and started feeling that shot with Salman. Whatever he was doing, I was inspired by it. Later, when I captured the sun in my camera, I realized that it was difficult to even look at the sun in such heat.

Anil had won the National Award for the film
Salman Khan, Aishwarya Rai and Ajay Devgan starrer film 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam', released in 1999, was one of the highest-grossing films of that year. This film was also one of the special films of Anil's career. For this he won the National Award for Best Cinematography.
