Veteran actress Mumtaz has given dozens of hit films with Rajesh Khanna like Aap Ki Kasam, Sachcha Jhootha and Do Raaste. Their pairing always made the films hit and both of them had a deep friendship off-screen as well. Recently, while talking about her friendship with Rajesh Khanna, veteran actress Mumtaz said that whenever she used to work with another hero, Rajesh Khanna would get angry with her.

Recently, in an interview to Rediff, the actress talked about Rajesh Khanna and said, he was my favourite and I was his. I don't even remember how many films we did together before he left the film industry. In his films, the heroine did not have much to do. But I like his film in which he had to sing Duniya mein logon ko dhokha kabhi ho jaata hai. Then we worked together in Aap ki Kasam, in which we were given equal importance. It was a controversial subject. I remember that during the discussion of the film, Kaka ji (Rajesh Khanna) and I had an argument with the producer-director J. Om Prakash ji.

Further in the interview, Mumtaz shared the story of Rajesh Khanna's anger. She said, he used to get angry with me only when I signed films with other heroes. He used to sit in a corner and get sad. When he used to work with other actresses, there was no problem. Rules are different for women and men. He always used to care for me. He used to call me fat because I was always a little fat. But I did not have any problem with it.

Let us tell you that in the 70s, Mumtaz was considered one of the top and most beautiful actresses of Hindi cinema. However, she left the film industry after marrying businessman Mayur Madhwani in 1974. Her last film Aaina was released in 1977. After this, her film Andhiyan was released in 1990. Along with the film industry, Mumtaz also left the country and settled in London with her family.
