POCSO Case Against BS Yediyurappa : Yediyurappa in trouble due to POCSO; Arrest can happen at any time!









Leaders Online Desk: A Bengaluru court on Thursday (13) issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against former Karnataka Chief Minister and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader BS Yeddyurappa in a POCSO case. The CID sought the warrant after Yeddyurappa sought time to appear, saying he was in New Delhi.

According to the police, based on the complaint of the mother of the 17-year-old girl, a case has been registered against Yeddyurappa under the POCSO Act and charges of sexual harassment. Yeddyurappa is accused of sexually assaulting the daughter of the complainant during a meeting at his residence in Dollars Colony, Bengaluru on February 2.

Yeddyurappa is currently in Delhi. The CID, which is investigating the POCSO case against him, had filed a petition in the court to issue an arrest warrant against Yeddyurappa, in which an arrest warrant has been issued against him. Earlier, the Home Minister had said that the CID can arrest Yeddyurappa if needed. The CID had asked Yeddyurappa to appear in the case on Thursday (12), but Yeddyurappa said that he is in Delhi and will appear before the CID on June 17.

On March 14, a woman filed a complaint against Yeddyurappa at the Sadashivnagar police station in Bengaluru. The complainant alleged that when they both went to Yeddyurappa's house for some work, Yeddyurappa sexually assaulted her minor daughter. It was alleged. When the case was serious, the Karnataka government handed over the investigation of the case to the CID. BS Yeddyurappa also appeared before the CID once in this case.

d. On May 26, the complainant died suddenly. It is said that she has been sick for many days. After this, the victim's brother filed a petition in the Karnataka High Court demanding Yeddyurappa's arrest. BS Yeddyurappa had also filed a petition in the court in this POCSO case. Meanwhile, Yeddyurappa had said that the allegations against him were baseless. However, Yeddyurappa's troubles are likely to increase now that the arrest warrant has been issued.
