However, there is one village where people vote not once, but twice, and it is duly recognized.
You may be surprised to know that people vote twice. However, there is one village in Andhra Pradesh where people actually vote twice. The reason behind this is equally interesting. The people of Kotia, a village bordering Odisha, vote twice. Andhra Pradesh and Odisha have been at loggerheads for a long time. The Kotia dispute came to the fore in 1968, when its people claimed tribal villages in Odisha. This dispute is not resolved and hence people vote for both the states. Each person votes twice. Local residents say that double voter ID is very beneficial for the people there.
