Paresh Rawal, who is known for his excellent comedy and acting, has turned 69 today. Paresh Rawal, who has worked in about 240 films, has played the villain in 100 films and comic roles in most of the rest of the films.

He started his acting career as a theatre artist. Meanwhile, he got a job in a bank but left it in just 3 days and kept living by taking money from his girlfriend. Later, he tried his luck in films and then never looked back.

On the basis of his strong acting, he became a big star of the industry. He received the National Award for Best Supporting Actor for the film 'Sir' in 1993 and the film 'Chhokri' in 1994, but Paresh Rawal got the most popularity from the film 'Hera-Pheri'.

In this film released in the year 2000, Paresh Rawal played the role of Baburao Ganpatrao Apte aka Babu Bhaiya and then became known by this name. However, Paresh Rawal does not like this character at all now.

Paresh Rawal was born on 30 May 1955 in a middle class family in Mumbai. His father was a businessman, but Paresh wanted to become an actor since childhood. His father also never stopped him from doing this. Paresh Rawal used to take part in plays since his school days.

This trend continued till his college days due to which Paresh Rawal started getting offers for many roles in films. However, he was not interested in films at that time and was happy working in theatre.

Apart from this, he started working in a bank, but left it in 3 days because he was unhappy with that job. After this, he lived for about two months by taking loans from his girlfriend Swaroop Sampat, but then one day he met film director Ketan Mehta.

When they both met, it was in connection with a play, but during this time they became good friends and Ketan Mehta convinced him to work in films.

It was on Ketan Mehta's insistence that Paresh Rawal signed the film 'Holi' which was released in 1984. At this time Rawal was 34 years old and had made his mark as an accomplished theater artist. His work in the film 'Holi' was also highly praised.

After seeing his work in the film 'Holi', director Rahul Rawail signed him for the film 'Arjun'. After this, Rawail took Paresh in many of his films like 'Samandar', 'Dakait', 'Yodha', 'Jeevan Ek Sangharsh'.

When Paresh got bored of playing the villain's role

He played villain's roles for a long time. He was often seen in roles like businessman, landlord, police officer in which his character used to be negative. Paresh Rawal got bored of playing the same kind of negative roles for a long time.

He told his friend Ketan Mehta about his feelings. To get him out of the villain image, Ketan made the film 'Sardar' in 1993. In this film, Paresh Rawal played the role of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel which was well liked.

Gangster's role got him the award

In 1993, Paresh Rawal appeared in the role of a gangster in Mahesh Bhatt's film 'Sir'. The story of the film was about a common man's family which gets destroyed in the fight between two gangsters. In this film, Paresh breathed life into the role of gangster Velji for which he also received the National Award for Best Supporting Actor in the year 1994.

In 1994 itself, Paresh was awarded the National Award for Best Supporting Actor for the film 'Woh Chhokri'.

In 1994, he appeared in the role of Paresh Teja in the film 'Andaz Apna Apna'. One of his dialogues in the film – Teja main hoon, Mark kidhar hai became very popular. Paresh Rawal's character was very much liked in this light-hearted comedy film.

In true sense, Paresh Rawal stepped out of his villainous image and into comedy with this film. After this, he worked in many films and kept impressing his fans.

Babu Bhaiya of Hera Pheri made him immortal

In the year 2000, Paresh Rawal appeared in the role of Babu Bhaiya in Priyadarshan's film 'Hera Pheri'. This character took Paresh to great heights. Dialogues like 'This is Baburao's style' became popular among fans. The situation is such that even today, 24 years after the release of the film, thousands of memes go viral on Babu Bhaiya's dialogues.

After the success of 'Hera Pheri', its sequel was released in 2006 named 'Phir Hera Pheri', in which Paresh Rawal also worked. Now soon its third part is also going to come, the shooting of which is going on.

In an interview, Paresh Rawal had told about his upcoming projects. He had said that before Hera Pheri 3, the film 'Welcome to the Jungle' will be released in which 25 big actors are working with him. 'Hera Pheri 3' can also be released by 2025.

In an interview, while giving the reason for doing 'Hera Pheri 3', he had said, 'Again the same white dhoti kurta and glasses, again the same dialogues, that is why I will charge a huge amount to work in 'Hera Pheri 3' because apart from money I have no other motivation to do this role.'

Paresh doesn't want to go to Hollywood

Paresh Rawal, who has worked in about 240 films, said in an interview that he has no interest in working in Hollywood. He said, I have no such intention of going to Hollywood. I like Hindi cinema. Our own films are so good. I can work here as well. I am not going to get good work just by going to Hollywood.

Fee of 5 crores for one film

According to media reports, Paresh Rawal charges Rs 5 crore for a film. The actor's net worth is approximately Rs 93 crore.
