Prime Minister Modi will visit Kanyakumari from May 30 to June 1, 2024. He will meditate at the Vivekananda Rock Memorial from the evening of May 30 to June 1. From 25 to 27 December 1892 i.e. for three days he meditated on this rock. The focus of his meditation was India's past, present and future. Swami Vivekananda dreamed of a developed India

. Swami Vivekananda reached Kanyakumari on 24 December 1892 after touring the entire country. It was here that he saw Mother India. It was here that he decided to dedicate the rest of his life to the poor of India.

There was a struggle to erect a Vivekananda memorial at the rock where Vivekananda meditated. Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Eknath Ranade played an important role in building the Vivekananda memorial temple here. On September 2, 1970, the then President of the country Dr. VV Giri inaugurated the memorial. The inauguration ceremony lasted for two months. The then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi also participated in it.

After the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, PM Modi meditated in the Rudra Cave

This is not the first time that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has visited such an important place after the Lok Sabha election campaign. Prime Minister Modi visited Kedarnath ahead of voting in the last phase of Lok Sabha Elections 2019. He had gone to meditate at the Rudra cave, one kilometer away from the Kedarnath temple. Here he meditated for 17 hours. His photographs of meditating in the cave became very famous and the cave has since become a center of attraction for religious tourists. Also, during the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister Modi visited Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's Pratapgad.
