Television actress Mouli Ganguly is currently seen in the serial 'Janani- AI Ki Kahani'. In the last 28 years, the actress has worked in many hit shows like 'Kahin Kisi Roz', 'Kusum', 'Nach Baliye', 'Suryaputra Karna'. However, according to him, today's era of television is quite worrying.
In an interview given to Dainik Bhaskar, Mauli told how the charm of TV is gradually losing due to the OTT platform. Many makers have to close the show just a few months after it starts. During the conversation, he also revealed the reason behind rejecting Bollywood films in his career. Read some key excerpts from the conversation:
Competition has increased a lot
The audience is now completely divided. There are many different channels on OTT platforms also. Most of the television audience has switched to OTT. Competition has increased a lot. There was a time when television had its own charm. Used to play TV shows in every home. But now this charm is gradually waning which is also worrying.
The show stops even before the makers can think of bringing some changes.
Nowadays, patience has reduced a lot among people. In the world of reels (shot videos), people do not want to wait. He has no patience at all. The audience spent the first 3 months of our show 'Kahin Kisi Roz' understanding the genre of the show. During this, they wanted to know whether our show is a thriller or horror. After 3 months, the show clicked. TRP was double digit i.e. rating of 18-19. In today's times, a rating of 3 is also considered big. Unfortunately, audiences no longer give their time. The show stops even before the makers can think of bringing any changes.
Doesn't fit into the world of films at all
Initially I got offers from films. But Bollywood is a different world. There were also many reservations regarding clothes, script, shifts etc. Whereas in television, I can choose the work as per my choice. Overall, I don't fit in at all in the world of films.
AI can also replace human team in television industry
The show 'Janani- AI Ki Kahani' is based around AI technology. There is no doubt that this technology is quite advanced. In the future, AI may also replace human teams in the television industry. The kind of interviews I have heard of Elon Musk, his brain is really on a different level. Whatever happens or whoever does anything, his intentions should be right. Like, in our show we are using technology but for a good cause. Apart from this, development of technology is also necessary.
Heard about the sequel of 'Kahin Kisi Roz', but…
Recently I heard that a sequel of our show 'Kahin Kisi Roz' is going to come. Although the truth is that I have no knowledge about this. If this happens then it will be very good news. Obviously, we will not be able to play the lead role at all. This show will be made only with a new cast.
