Oscar winning singer and music composer AR Rahman has been in the headlines for the last few days after announcing divorce. Since the divorce, the singer's name was being linked to his bassist Mohini Dey, as both of them announced their divorce on the same day. Amidst the news of link-up, Mohini Dey has now described AR Rahman as her father. He also said that he is just a few years younger than his father. Mohini has also demanded privacy.
On 20th November, the day AR Rahman announced divorce, his co-worker Mohini Dey also announced divorce on the same day. Since then, Mohini Dey's name was being linked to AR Rahman and she was being considered as the reason for divorce. AR Rahman has already decided to take legal action in this matter, while now Mohini has also presented her clarification on the issue.
Mohini Dey has recently given clarification on her relationship with AR Rahman through a video. He has said that the singer is like a father to him. Mohini has shared a video and said, I was on tour for some time, now I have got a chance to meet my mother-in-law. I want to come here and tell you all that there are many father figures and role models in my life. I am very thankful that he has played an important role in my life. AR is one of them. By AR I mean AR Rahman.
She further said, I respect him a lot, he is like a father to me. He is slightly younger than my real father. His daughter is of the same age as me. We both have love and respect for each other. I worked as a bassist in his band for the last 8 and a half years. For the last 5 years I have been working with other pop artists in the UK. I also have my own band. In short I want to say that please be kind. Please respect our privacy. This is a personal matter and it is very painful.
Along with this video, Mohini has written, It is unbelievable to see the misinformation, rumors and claims being spread about me and AR Rahman. It seems criminal that the media has vulgarized both the incidents. It's disappointing to see that people have no empathy or respect for such emotional matters. It hurts to see people's thoughts. AR Rahman is a legend and he is like a father to me.
Mohini further writes, media and paps do not understand what effect it has on people's minds and lives. Be sensitive. I am under no obligation to explain myself to anyone, but I don't want to waste my days. Please stop making baseless allegations and respect our privacy.
Let us tell you that AR Rahman had announced divorce from wife Saira Banu on November 20. On the same day, Mohini also announced her divorce from husband Mark Hartsch. After this, Mohini started being cited as the reason for AR Rahman's divorce.
