MLA disqualification case: Hearing on Shiv Sena MLA disqualification case on 'May 14'

New Delhi, Leading News Service: The possible date of hearing on the Shiv Sena MLA disqualification case has been changed again in the Supreme Court. Now the hearing on this matter is likely to be held on May 14. Earlier, the probable date of this hearing was April 26.

Shiv Sena's Thackeray group approached the Supreme Court while Shiv Sena's Shinde group approached the High Court against the verdict given by Assembly Speaker Rahul Narvekar in the Shiv Sena MLA disqualification case. While passing the verdict on the Shiv Sena MLA disqualification case, Assembly Speaker Rahul Narvekar had also disqualified the Shiv Sena Shinde faction and Thackeray faction MLAs. But before the Thackeray group, the Shinde group filed a petition in this regard in the High Court. Meanwhile, earlier on March 7, the Supreme Court had heard the petition of the Thackeray group. At this time, the Supreme Court had summoned the original documents from the hearing before the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly in the Shiv Sena MLA disqualification case. Thereafter, the next possible date of hearing on the petition was shown as April 26. But now this probable date has changed to May 14. In the upcoming hearing on this case, it is likely that a decision will be taken whether this petition should be kept in the Supreme Court or sent to the High Court.

The Supreme Court is on summer vacation from May 18 to July 7. Therefore, if MLA disqualification case and Shiv Sena Thackeray faction's party and symbol case cannot be heard before May 18, then both these cases will be heard directly after July 7. Meanwhile, it will be clear who will come to the government on June 4. So will this hearing be held on a possible date? And will any decisive aspect emerge from it? Advocate Siddharth Shinde of the Supreme Court reacted that it will be important to see this.
