Dil Kya Kare was released in 1999.

Mahima said, when I had an accident, I had no idea how many cuts there were on my face. One day I saw myself in the bathroom mirror. Before that I was telling Prakash Jha that let's shoot because the doctors had seen me. He said no, wait now. Then when I looked at my face, I realized that my face had become very bad. Then I told Ajay Devgan and Prakash ji that please do not tell anyone about this that all this has happened to me. I will see how I will be able to save my career with all this. No one involved in the production of the film shared this thing with anyone. After 20 years, when I shared this story, people came to know.

Mahima further said, that was a very difficult time because I was very young then. Ajay used to explain to me again and again that everything would be fine after the surgery but I did not listen to him. I started thinking about other career options. Even today one of my eyes is smaller than the other. Since then I don't face the camera, I always try to hide my face from some angle.

Made debut from abroad

Mahima had an excellent career from 1997 to 2002. During this period, he worked in many hit films like Pardes, Daag: The Fire, Dhadkan and Kurukshetra. But after this most of her films were flops and after 2006 she almost disappeared from the screen.

After marrying Bobby Mukherjee in 2006, Mahima gave birth to a daughter in 2007. After about 4 years i.e. in 2011, Mahima and Bobby got separated. Both of them also got divorced in 2013.
