Leader Online Desk: The Election Commission has issued show-cause notices to Congress leader Supriya Sreenet and BJP leader Dilip Ghosh for making insulting and offensive remarks against the honor and dignity of women. Both have been asked to reply in this matter by 5 pm on March 29.
Supriya Neth had made an insulting post on social media against BJP's Mandi Lok Sabha constituency candidate Kannaga Ranawat. But he claimed that someone hacked his X handle and posted this.
Former West Bengal BJP state president Dilip Ghosh, who is contesting from the Vardhaman-Durgapur Lok Sabha constituency, mocked Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee's family background.
The Election Commission has now taken serious note of the objectionable remarks made by Supriya Sreenet and Dilip Ghosh. These two leaders have been issued notices and ordered to disclose by March 29.
