Leader Online Desk: Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK) MP A Ganeshmurthy from Erode, who was poisoned with pesticides after being denied a Lok Sabha election ticket, died of a heart attack today (March 28). On March 24, Ganeshmurthy took the extreme step and tried to end his life by using insecticide. He was undergoing treatment at a private hospital here in Coimbatore.
On the morning of March 24, 76-year-old Ganeshmurthy's health deteriorated. He started vomiting. He told the family that he had consumed insecticide. He was immediately admitted to a private hospital in Erode. After initial treatment, he was admitted to a private hospital in Coimbatore. He was put on ventilator. Hospital sources said that his condition is critical. He died of a heart attack early today.
Ganeshmurthy won Lok Sabha elections from Palani in 1998 and Erode in 2009. After this, Ganeshmurthy was elected from Erode Lok Sabha constituency in 2019 Lok Sabha elections. He is survived by a son and a daughter.

MDMK chief Vaiko has expressed his shock over the death of Ganeshmurthy. He had met me twice after the distribution of party tickets. He did not think so at that time and took such an extreme step. Vaiko has said that I cannot believe that he has passed away.
