The 17th season of the tournament will start from March 22. BCCI has announced the schedule of 21 matches. The board did not announce the remaining matches due to the Lok Sabha elections. Meanwhile, there was talk that the rest of the matches will be held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). However, these talks have come to an end after BCCI Secretary Jai Shah said that the remaining matches of the tournament will be played in India. (IPL 2024)

“IPL will not be held abroad,” said Jai Shah. In fact, there was talk on social media for some time that the BCCI might hold the tournament outside the country due to the upcoming elections. Nothing like that will happen, all the matches of the tournament will be played in India. (IPL 2024)

The Election Commission has announced the dates for the general elections. It will be held in seven phases from April 19 to June 4. Now that the polling dates have been fixed, BCCI is expected to announce the complete IPL schedule. The IPL will begin with the match between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Shreyas Iyer left for Kolkata
