Hemant Soren: Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren's uncle passes away; Court denied bail

Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren had sought a 13-day interim bail from the court to attend his uncle's funeral. This was heard today (27th) in the special PMLA court of Ranchi. This time the court refused to grant him bail. (Hemant Soren)

Ram Soren, father of former chief minister Hemant Soren and brother of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha chief Shibu Soren, passed away on Saturday (27th) morning. He was sick for many days. According to media reports, he was living in Ranchi.

One week time limit to reply to ED

Hemant Soren was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on January 31. He is accused of money laundering in the land scam case. The former chief minister is currently in judicial custody in Ranchi's Birsa Munda Jail. In this case, the High Court has given one more week to ED to reply on Soren's bail plea.
