New Delhi, Leading News Service: 1 lakh 75 thousand pilgrims from India went to Mecca in Saudi Arabia. The spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs, Randhir Jaiswal, has informed that 98 people have died so far. He said that 6 Hajj pilgrims died of heat stroke due to high temperature on Arafat day.
Jaiswal said some people died due to natural diseases, chronic diseases and old age. It also includes heat stroke. 4 Indians died in the accident. Last year, the number of Indians who died during Hajj was 187.

India Denies China's Position on Dalai Lama
Randhir Jaiswal clarified that the Tibetan priest Dalai Lama is highly respected as a religious leader in India and there has been no change in India's position towards him. China accused the Dalai Lama of spreading separatism in China in the name of religion. China had said that the US and India should stay away from the Dalai Lama. However, India has refuted China's position and clarified that the Dalai Lama is a supreme religious leader.
