The resignation of Arun Goyal has been accepted in terms of clause (1) of section 11 of the Chief Election Commissioner and Other Election Commissioners (Appointment, Conditions of Service and Term of Office) Act, 2023. With Goyal's resignation, the responsibility of overseeing the entire election system has now fallen to Chief Election Commissioner Rajeev Kumar.
