Even after the summons, the accused did not appear
A team of CBI officials raided the house of TMC leader Debbrat Panda of Kathi Block No.3. Also, this action was taken at the house of TMC leader Nanddulal Maiti in the second block. A CBI official said the names of Panda and Nanddulal's children have been filed in the FIR along with 52 other accused. BJP worker Janmejay Dulai was killed in the violence. CBI officials said that raids are being conducted at places related to the accused. The accused will also be interrogated. After the election, 30 accused in connection with the violence were summoned for questioning. But no one appeared. Because of this, CBI has conducted this raid.
The violence happened after the 2021 assembly elections
In May 2021, there was an incident of violence in West Bengal after the results of the West Bengal Assembly elections. Especially TMC workers targeted BJP workers at many places. Many BJP workers had also left their homes fearing violence. The case of political activists leaving their homes fearing violence had also reached the Calcutta High Court.
