Leaders Online Desk: The Supreme Court has granted interim bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal till June 1. They have been asked to surrender on June 2. This has given Kejriwal a big relief in the general election.
Kejriwal has been in jail since March 21
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by the ED on March 21 in connection with the alleged liquor scam in Delhi. Earlier, ED had issued 9 summons to him for questioning in this case. However, Kejriwal did not appear on any summons. He was the mastermind behind the scam and was directly involved in extorting bribes from the liquor dealers, the Central Investigation Agency alleged. Rejecting these allegations, 'AAP' has clarified that there will be no leadership change in Delhi, but Chief Minister Kejriwal will run the government from jail.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) was scheduled to file a chargesheet against Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the Delhi liquor scam case today (10th). This is the first time that Kejriwal's name has been included in the charge sheet. The ED will list Kejriwal's name as the mastermind and kingpin in its chargesheet. Therefore, Kejriwal's problems will increase in the Delhi liquor scam.
Inclusion of name in charge sheet as main instigator
The ED will mention Kejriwal's name as the main mastermind in its charge sheet. The Enforcement Directorate claims to have traced a money trail linked to Arvind Kejriwal. Kejriwal's interim bail will also be heard in the Supreme Court tomorrow.
