Arvind Kejriwal | ED summons illegal, still ready to reply after March 12: Kejriwal | leader


Leaders Online: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has now responded to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) after issuing 8 summonses in the money laundering case related to the liquor policy scam case. The summons issued to me are illegal. However, Kejriwal has said that he is ready to answer ED's questions. Arvind Kejriwal has informed the Enforcement Directorate that he is ready to appear before them for questioning through video conferencing. He has sought a date after March 12 to appear before the ED.

ED had recently issued eighth summons to Kejriwal. He has been asked to appear for questioning on March 4 (Monday). But, Kejriwal decided to avoid the summons. Because the Delhi government is going to present the budget in the assembly today.

In his reply to the ED, Chief Minister Kejriwal said he was ready to answer questions through video conferencing and reiterated that the summons issued to him were “illegal”.

On February 26, Kejriwal had avoided the ED's seventh summons. AAP had said that the matter is “pending in court” and will be heard on March 16. He had appealed that the ED should wait for the court's decision instead of issuing repeated summons.

Kejriwal was issued the eighth summons on March 2. Apart from this, he was previously summoned on February 26, February 14, February 2, January 18, January 3, December 22, 2023 and November 2, 2023.
