The police reached his two houses in search of Siddiqui, but he was not found there. Both the mobile numbers used by him are also switched off. In such a situation, he has been declared absconding. There are reports that the actor will knock the doors of the Supreme Court for bail.
What is the whole matter?
After the Hema Committee report came out, South actress Revathi Sampath filed a complaint against actor Siddiqui in Trivandrum Museum police station in August accusing him of physical abuse.
The actress alleges that 8 years ago in 2016, Siddiqui had called her to a Muscat hotel to discuss a film, where she was physically abused.
Even before filing the complaint, Revati had talked about this incident. However, Siddiqui had then clarified that Revati was trying to unnecessarily implicate him. In defense, Siddiqui filed a complaint with the Director General of Police and said that all the allegations made by Revati are false, because he had met her in 2016 in the presence of her parents.
Senior actor Siddique was the general secretary of AMMA (Association of Malayalam Movie Artists), however, after the allegations, he resigned from the post. A special investigation team was formed for this case, which has been formed to investigate the cases of sexual harassment coming from Malayalam cinema.
