However, Vinod Khanna played a very important role in that film and I also got a chance to work with him.

Anant Mahadevan said, 'There was a time when Vinod Khanna's stardom became a challenge for Amitabh Bachchan. But everything changed when he left his film career and went to Osho Ashram in America. However, when he came back after five years and started his career again with the film Insaaf, his popularity was so great that people went from Apsara Theater to Maratha Temple, which was more than a kilometer away. There were people standing in line to buy tickets.

Ananth said, 'Insaaf film had a very good start. But the film was not very successful. However, Vinod Khanna was such a person who proved himself at every time and in every situation, be it films or politics.

Anant further said, 'Vinod Khanna was a very cheerful and nice person. Every time I went to him for a role, he used to say, Anant, you know me, I have a rate. I take only 35 lakhs. Whether you shoot for one day or 20 days, my fees remain the same.
