However, at that time his father Amitabh Bachchan advised him to be patient and keep working. Big B believed that there is a hidden good actor inside Abhishek, which can be shown at the right time.

Abhishek Bachchan told Galata Plus, 'My films were continuously flopping and then suddenly my acting started being severely criticized. Not only this, I was working with big directors of that time. There was a hope in my mind that they would teach me something and correct my mistakes, but nothing was changing.

Abhishek said, 'I once told my father that we should talk. I think we made a mistake. I don't think I'm cut out for acting because whatever I do, nothing is going right. I have done everything. Have done all types of films. Have worked with all types of filmmakers. But nothing is happening. Maybe now I should be honest with myself and say that this is not what I am for. I must find something else now.'

Recalling the advice of his father Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek said, 'My father Amitabh Bachchan told me that look, I am not talking as your father, but as a senior. You are not a fully prepared actor yet. You need to learn a lot. But I am seeing improvement in every film of yours. There is a good actor hidden inside you. How good you can become depends on you and how hard you want to work, just sign whatever film you get and keep working. I also did something similar.

Abhishek said, 'I never thought anything after this advice from my father. Didn't care whether the role was big or small. I did every kind of role until I felt confident in myself. Until I got success at the box office and people started seeing me as a lead actor again.
