Leader Online Desk: The Supreme Court has refused to hear Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's early bail plea. The court had granted interim bail to Kejriwal in the Delhi liquor policy case. A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court to extend the bail period by seven days on the grounds of health.
Kejriwal's lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi demanded an early hearing on the petition. Last week, the Supreme Court rejected the plea asking why the petition was not filed before the bench headed by Justice Dutta. The Supreme Court clearly said that we cannot give any order in this regard. Go to the Chief Justice in this matter. The bench of Justice JK Maheshwari of the Supreme Court clarified that the Chief Justice will take a decision in this matter.

Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by the ED on March 21 in connection with the Delhi liquor policy scam. Kejriwal filed a petition in the Delhi High Court against this arrest, but the High Court rejected his petition. After this he approached the Supreme Court. On May 10, the Supreme Court granted interim bail to Kejriwal till June 1.
While granting bail to Kejriwal for campaigning for the Lok Sabha elections, the court had also made it clear that Kejriwal will have to return to jail on June 1. Now Kejriwal has filed a petition in the Supreme Court and demanded to extend the bail for another seven days. Kejriwal has said in the petition that he will have to undergo some health tests which include PET and CT scan etc.
