Kejriwal's lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi demanded an early hearing on the petition. Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by the ED on March 21 in connection with the Delhi liquor policy scam. Kejriwal filed a petition in the Delhi High Court against this arrest, but the High Court rejected his petition. After this he approached the Supreme Court. On May 10, the Supreme Court granted interim bail to Kejriwal till June 1.
While granting bail to Kejriwal for campaigning for the Lok Sabha elections, the court had also made it clear that Kejriwal will have to return to jail on June 1. Now Kejriwal has filed a petition in the Supreme Court and demanded to extend the bail for another seven days. Kejriwal has said in the petition that he will have to undergo some health tests which include PET and CT scan etc.
