what happened
On September 2, 2019, a case of abduction and rape of a young woman was registered against a youth at the Baradari police station in Bareilly district. Police arrested the concerned youth. The girl had alleged that she was taken to Delhi and raped after being given drugs and locked in a room. According to this complaint, the youth was arrested. But when the trial in this case started in the court, the young lady deliberately lied in the cross-examination. He said that he was not raped. The court held that it was appropriate to prosecute the woman under Section 195 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973.
The youth will have to stay in jail for the duration of the sentence he has served
The court clarified that in this case, the young woman concerned will have to spend the same amount of time in jail as the young man has spent in jail. Had the innocent youth been out of jail, he would have earned more than Rs 5,88,000 as a labourer. Therefore, this amount should be collected from the woman and given to the young man. If not, the woman will have to suffer an additional punishment of 6 months, the court also clarified.
Real victims have to bear the loss because of such women
A case was registered against the woman for giving false testimony in this entire case. While hearing the case, the court of Additional Sessions Judge Gyanendra Tripathi convicted him and sentenced him. In this incident, the court took a strict stance and said that only the real victims have to bear the loss due to the actions of such women. In this case, the court said that this is a very serious situation for the society. It is objectionable to use the means of police and courts to achieve your goals. Women cannot be allowed to attack the interests of men for undue advantage. The court also said that the sentence handed down by the court will create fear for women who file false cases to extort money from men.
