Lok Sabha Election 2024: BJP's proposal to contest on 5 seats in Mumbai, Shidena's proposal is invalid | leader

Leader Online Desk : Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Chief Minister Eknath Shinde have discussed seat sharing in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. BJP leader Amit Shah has proposed 5 seats to BJP and 1 seat to Shinde's Shiv Sena in Mumbai. It is understood that this proposal of BJP was rejected by Shinde's Shiv Sena. Meanwhile, the meeting between Amit Shah and the Grand Alliance leaders ended late on Tuesday night. Today (March 6) the meeting would be held again in the morning. But Amit Shah has left for Bandra. Also, this meeting could not be held as all the leaders left for the program in BKC.

On March 2, the BJP announced the first list of candidates including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amit Shah and 34 Union Ministers. Not a single candidate from Maharashtra was included in this list. A rift has arisen in the Grand Alliance, and to resolve it, Amit Shah arrived on a two-day visit to Maharashtra on Tuesday. His programs were held at Akola, Jalgaon, Jalna. He held a public meeting in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar. Amit Shah arrived in Mumbai on Tuesday night after predicting the seat distribution in Marathwada. On Tuesday night, he was arguing with Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar at the Sahyadri guest house till late.

BJP wants some seats won by Shiv Sena last time in 2019. BJP took a strong position to get at least 30 to 32 seats. Shiv Sena is also insisting on all the 22 seats it contested last time. Ajit Pawar's NCP has also insisted on 12 seats, triple the number of seats it won under the leadership of Sharad Pawar last time.

Will have the ability to win and should allocate seats: Amit Shah

Last time in Maharashtra, the alliance won 41 out of 48 seats. These places should not be less. It is learned that Amit Shah has given suggestions in the meeting on 'Sahyadri' that seats should be distributed on the basis of the party which has more chances of winning and which has competent candidates. There are differences in some places. Especially, there is no consensus between BJP and Shinde faction in Thane, Gadchiroli, Parbhani, Ramtek constituencies.

Any more shocks to the opposition?

It is understood that some possible party entry was also discussed in this meeting. Some Congress MLAs and important leaders are going to join BJP soon. These parties can be entered before the announcement of Lok Sabha elections, giving a shock to the opposition. Sources say that it was also discussed in this meeting.
