It is 22 October 2012. It was a typical day for 23-year-old South actress Bidushi Das Barde, who lives in a cooperative housing society in Andheri (West).
South superstar Kamal Haasan was once seen in a big film with Jyothika and Bidushi, who was Miss Chennai 2006, was away from films for some time and used to spend most of her time at home with her husband.
That day, her husband Kedar had left home for office at 7.50 am as usual. Bidushi left her husband till the door and then closed the door. As soon as he reached the office, at around 9.30, Kedar called Bidushi, but she did not answer. Usually this did not happen, but considering him busy with work, Kedar got busy in his office work.
After a few hours, he called Bidushi again, but still did not get the answer. This time he was worried. He made several calls one after the other, but Bidushi was neither picking up his calls nor seeing the messages.
After finishing the work, Kedar returned home at around 8 pm. He kept ringing the doorbell, but there was no response from inside. When I listened to the door, the sound of TV was coming from inside. After waiting for a long time, he opened the door with duplicate keys. As soon as he entered the house, the scene was heart-wrenching. Bidushi was lying soaked in blood in the corridor. There were deep wounds on the face and neck caused by pieces of broken glass.
Seeing such condition of his wife, Kedar shuddered. With the help of the landlord, he took his wife to Ambani Hospital, where the doctors declared her dead. He had died hours ago.
The glass wounds on Bidushi's face were pointing towards a bigger conspiracy. A murder case was filed, but even after 12 years the mystery of his death remains unsolved.
Today in 3 chapters of Ansuni Dastaan, read the story of the death of South actress and model Bidushi Das Barde, whose life was cut short in just 23 years.
Bidushi Das Barde was born in Odisha in the year 1989. After spending a few years in Odisha, Bidushi shifted to Chennai. He was interested in the entertainment world from an early age. After finishing school, she entered the world of modeling at the age of 17. In the year 2006, she participated in Miss Chennai Beauty Pageant and also got the title of second runner up.
After this pageant, the doors of South Film Industry opened for Bidushi. After some small South films, she was seen in the Tamil film Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu released in 2006. Kamal Haasan and Jyotika were in lead roles in this film.
Bidushi was just 20 years old when, while making her mark in films, she met Kedar, a software engineer by profession. Kedar was just 3 years older than him. While spending time together, both started liking each other. The family was against this relationship, however, both of them got married in 2009.
After one and a half year of marriage, in 2010, both of them shifted to Mumbai and started living in a rented apartment in Andheri (West). The same place where his dead body was found on 22 October 2012.
As soon as Mumbai Police found the body, his body was handed over to J.J. After reaching the hospital, investigation into the case was started. According to sources at Cooper Hospital, the Vile Parle post-mortem center found that Bidushi Das died due to a cut caused by a sharp weapon and excessive bleeding. He had suffered hemorrhagic shock due to a deep injury on his neck. The nails and hair of the deceased Bidushi were also sent for examination for forensic analysis. According to the post mortem report, Bidushi had died on the morning of 22 October.
The police, who reached the spot along with forensic experts, noticed that the glass of a cupboard located near the place where Bidushi's body was found was broken. There were pieces of the same glass on the ground and on Bidushi's neck, cheeks and hands. However, there was no trace of blood on the cupboard.
Initially the police started investigation from the robbery angle, but according to the statement of her husband Kedar, no item was missing from the house. Since there was no robbery angle, the police registered a case of murder and started investigation. The police first suspected Bidushi's husband Kedar, because there were no signs of force entry in the house. According to Kedar's statement, when he returned home, the door was locked from inside. Only Kedar had the duplicate keys of the house.
Under suspicion, when Mumbai Police interrogated Bidushi's husband Kedar, he revealed about his wife's illness and quarrel. According to Mumbai Police, there was a sudden change in his behaviour.
According to Kedar's statement, both were going through difficult times for a long time. The financial condition was bad and Bidushi was also not getting films. Kedar, a software engineer by profession, had a salary of only Rs 60 thousand, out of which he used to pay Rs 22 thousand in rent. Some time ago, Bidushi had undergone eyelid surgery and hair transplant.
Kedar had said in the police statement that there was a fight between the two over some issue on Sunday, a day before Bidushi's death. The next morning after the fight, he left for work at 7.30 am. He messaged Bidushi at around 8.15 pm to inquire about her well-being, to which she did not respond.
After messaging Bidushi, Kedar spoke to his father, who is a Lieutenant Colonel. After this he made 3 consecutive calls to Bidushi, which he did not pick up. Kedar and Bidushi's family was against their love marriage, which was the reason why Kedar did not talk to Bidushi's family. But when Bidushi did not pick up the call that day, Kedar, worried, called his father, who is an Air Force officer, for the first time after marriage. He told that Bidushi was not responding even after calling several times. Father had also made many calls to him.
Many times Bidushi used to faint while walking
According to Kedar, Bidushi was diabetic and also had blood pressure problems. This had happened on many occasions, when she would faint while walking. She has also fainted several times at home due to low blood pressure. According to Kedar, he was also undergoing psychiatric treatment. Kedar's statement was confirmed by his call records and Bidushi's medical reports.
Society committee member Raju Sandhu told the police that both of them did not talk to anyone, nor did they participate in any activity of the society. Both were mostly out or busy with work.
Bidushi received 80 calls on the day of her death, received many modeling projects in messages on the same day
When Mumbai Police closely examined Bidushi's call records, it was revealed that she had received 80 calls on the day of her death, most of which were from her husband Kedar and father. The father had also sent many messages to Bidushi, in which he was continuously asking her to answer the calls. Bidushi, who was looking for work for many days, had received many modeling offers through messages. The call records also contained call messages from an agent who was asking him to return Rs 25,000.
A doctor who treated Bidushi also came to meet him that afternoon, however, when he reached home, the door did not open. In such a situation, he returned without meeting Bidushi.
According to PTI report, a woman working in the neighborhood told the police that she had seen a man leaving Bidushi's house. However, no evidence of this was found in the CCTV footage.
The first week passed, then a month and then a year, but the exact cause of Bidushi's death could not be revealed. The police also did not have any solid evidence against her husband Kedar. Finally, after about a year, the police closed the case, calling it an accidental death. While closing the case, the police wrote in the report that after seeing the condition of the dead body, the police had registered a murder case in a misunderstanding. Although it was an accident. That day, Bidushi must have fainted due to low blood pressure and fell against the cupboard, due to which the glass broke and hit her body.
Many people opposed this report and the claim of accidental death. Bidushi's father Shantanu Das also talked about murder, but the results were zero. Forensic experts also said that it was impossible for such a serious injury to occur just by falling into the glass, although this case was never re-opened. Even today, after 12 years, the mystery of Bidushi's death remains unsolved.
